There's lots to do in LOFOTEN !
The scenery is unique – wild, yet beautiful at the same time. There is plenty of scope for a variety of activities including rambling, fishing and boating, mountaineering, scuba diving, deep-sea rafting, skiing and lots more.
The people are friendly and outgoing and you will quickly become acquainted with them. They have been used to visitors for over 1000 years - fishermen that came here to fish from all over the country. Today, other travellers and tourists are given a warm welcome, too!

Art and culture. There are a number of galleries presenting famous artists (Gunnar Berg, Kåre Espolin Johnson, Karl Erik Harr, Dagfinn Bakke) together with those who are less known. The variety of museums includes, amongst others, the Fishing Village Museum, Stockfish Museum, Doll Museum and War Memorial Museum, These are among the very best museums in the country!

Other attractions include:

Lofotr- The Viking Museum of Borg.
- A reconstructed chieftain’s house, 83 metres in length and the largest of its kind in the country. There is also a true to life replica of a Viking ship at the museum.

The Lofoten Aquarium.
The Lofoten Aquarium presents a wide range of species of fish from along the coast of Norway. There are seals and otters there, too. Slide show about Lofoten.

Lofoten Golf Course.
9-hole golf links in spectacular surroundings on the outer coast of Lofoten. Why not try Midnight Sun golfing? You can play golf in the sunlight all day and all night!

The World Cod Fishing Championships.
In March/April people congregate in Lofoten to take part in this great annual fishing contest that attracts both amateur and professional fishermen from all over Europe.
